Old Shippon and The Shippon are located one and a half miles
from the village of Buckland Brewer. There is a genera stores in the village, a butchers'
and an ecellent pub - The Coach and Horses - well-known locally for its good food.
The market towns of Bideford and Torrington are approximately 5 and 9 miles
distant. Bideford, the larger of the two, has supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, chemists
and most things you would expect to find in a medium sized town. Torrington is home to Dartington Crystal and
Rosemoor Gardens.

Westward Ho!
The famous hillside
village of Clovelly is 8 miles away.

From Bideford Quay follow the River
Torridge inland, taking the Great Torrington road A386, then turn right signposted
Buckland Brewer after 1.5 miles.
After 2.5 miles, take the left turn
signposted Buckland Brewer (and Coach and Horses) then turn right after 0.5 miles
signposted Beara. Follow the track, over the cattle grid, until you reach Beara
Farmhouse, The Shippon and The Old Shippon.
